Fired for bragging???

Today I was fired from my job because one of my co workers said that I had been bragging about winning a jacket for being an outstanding employee. She asked me how I got the jacket and I told her that I was recognized as being an outstanding employee. I simply answered her question and was apparently bragging. Next time should I just be rude and say "None of your business" when a co worker asks a question? I don't understand it.

    Sounds really wierd to me. a jacket is a visible signal of preference, they obviously want to reward people and let it be known. Either they are not clear on what they are doing, or you haven't told the whole story.
