sometimes being a teenager can be so frustrating. scratch that. it always is. stuck in that time between childhood and adulthood, you just don't know what side to lean to. everything becomes crazy. school, friends, family, among everything else, just add stress to the teenage life. and no one else seems to understand.

Stick it out. Find your own way. Find your own moral compass. Believe in something. If you have nothing to believe in, turn off the all the machines, the computer, the internet, the tv, the video games, the mp3 player, and whatever else, and find your own inner voice, and find something to believe in, something higher than you, something good, and beautiful not something dark and twisted. Don't give in to despair. If you have dark thoughts tell someone. There are people who can help you. I originally wrote quite a different answer. A bit of that answer is, that your confusion at least in part stems from the times and the society in which we live. The changes in our society since World War II have not been all good. The word "teenager" did not exist until the 1940's, and much of the confusion that goes with it didn't exist either. Try to understand the past, for whomever controls the story of the past, controls the present, to no small degree. You life is what it is. You have to play the hand you were dealt. But othing is always, not even confusion and bad feelings. And remember, the majority of adults are just big children who have learned to hide how childish they are better than you have.

The previous poster did a really great job of explaining, but here's my two cents. I'm in college right now, so high school wasn't too long ago. Being a teenager *sucks*. A lot. You have a bunch of hormones running through your body while trying to figure out who you are. No pressure, though. My teenage years were hell. I was socially awkward and blushed every 5 seconds. I had two best friends and terrible acne. I pretty much thought life was gonna suck forever. But guess what? I was wrong. As soon as you get out and start to develop as a person, not within your own narrow peer group, life gets a whole lot better, trust me. I know it sounds like total crap, but it does get better. So just wait it out and keep your head up high. It'll be over before you know it. Good luck!
