   probably diff situation with me, but my career is doomed. Being positive, having will to move ahead, skills, great personality is not enough these days. I have given up on my career as such. Though I use to skeptic, but I believe now that "luck" is the biggest factor of all when looking or holding a job. You may think otherwise. Good Luck!
